Moss time is never far away! Moss should be considered as a Wonder of the World! Well it sure is when you see moss carpeting a forest floor, in a rockery, riverbank, in gardens or on rotten logs. However, this often loses its appeal when its growing on the South side of your house or on
the slippery paths adjoining it so it's definitely Moss Eradication time when it appears.
What Causes Moss?
Moss is symptomatic of wet, poorly drained soils. Grass can be quickly invaded by moss where areas of lawn are shaded. Also, when the lawn mower blades are set to low and the grass is scalped. If the grass is cut too short it loses its vigour and its growth is severely inhibited. In these conditions moss will quickly take advantage and establish itself in the lawn.

How Long Does it Take to Remove Moss?
The time it takes to remove the moss using Wet and Forget products depends on your particular circumstances. If the contamination is light you should see results in a few days. Otherwise if the contamination is of high intensity then you should see improvements in 2 to 3 months time.
For example, if you’re trying to get rid of moss on concrete then the concrete may turn an orangy brown which will fade over a short period of time. Using it consistently is key. Next season when you clean up, the moss removal will occur faster as you’ve already done it before. However, if you find that the contamination is extreme, you can increase the strength for a quicker reaction. On the other hand you can decrease the strength if you’re doing a maintenance spray.
How to Remove Moss out of Lawns?
You can use our Wet & Forget products to remove moss out of lawns as well. Make sure to lightly water the lawn (but not enough to saturate the moss). Do this late in the day when the sun is low so that evaporation is kept to a minimum. Dilute the 5L Wet & Forget 7 parts water to 1 part Wet & Forget and spot spray the moss. It may take a couple of tries until you have it under control. At worst you may get slight burning on the grass but it will recover very quickly. Rake the dead moss out. Finish by sprinkling lime over the area as this is usually a sign that your pH of the soil is not quite right.

How to Remove Moss from My Roof?
An average 3 bedroomed house with a tile/concrete roof would require 2 x 5 litre packs of product. It will also depend on how porous the surface is and how much biological growth is present. You may need more if the total area covered with lichen. For best results if you have a lichen problem, mix the Wet & Forget and spot spray the lichen, leave for 10-15 minutes and then respray the lichen and the entire roof to ensure the plant absorbs the Wet & Forget thoroughly. The first application is to dissolve the waxy surface. The 2nd spray will then penetrate the lichen. For green moss and black mould one application is normally sufficient. Your roof will normally take between 6 to 12 months to come clean. 12 months is the worst case scenario when contamination is heavy.
